Look who's talking
Our protests against the Government's plans to introduce 20% VAT on the sale of caravan holiday homes from 1st October 2012 have been well documented by the media. The NCC press office has been working with journalists on local, regional and national media outlets to communicate the huge and damaging impact this action will have on our industry, on tourism and on coastal and rural communities right across the UK if it goes ahead.
Coverage on the story has ranged from BBC Breakfast, The Times, The FT, The Hull Daily Mail, Yorkshire Post and many local radio interviews with caravan industry representatives up and down the country to a damming slur of David Cameron from an unlikely supporter, Katie Price, in her Sunday column in The Sun.
Below is a quick snapshot of some of the coverage generated.
